Isometric exercises might be different from dynamic movements. Which muscles should you work? Could you actually worsen wrinkles over the long term? More research is needed. Many people online share anecdotal benefits, but I would approach facial exercises with caution. There is no solid evidence they reverse laxity, and there is a theoretical risk of increasing wrinkles.
Minimally Invasive Options: Where Real Hope Lies
When you want something more than creams and devices, but you are not ready for surgery, there are several procedures that can make a meaningful difference. Let me start with one that I believe is underrated: Sculptra. Sculptra is an injectable filler, but it is not like the typical hyaluronic acid fillers. For more significant loose skin with overhang and skin breakdown, surgery may still be needed, but for subtle sagging, microcoring is a promising option.

There is no way to completely prevent it. But there are ways to minimize it. First, lose weight in a healthy way—avoid crash dieting and rapid weight loss. If you are using new weight loss medications, work closely with your physician to ensure the dose is appropriate and you are monitored. Incorporate strength training to build muscle while you lose fat. That can help balance some of the volume changes and may reduce the appearance of loose skin. But it is not a guarantee.
And please, do not fall for the myth that intermittent fasting will prevent or remove loose skin due to autophagy. People claiming that online simply do not know what they are talking about. Autophagy is a cellular process, but it does not selectively tighten loose skin. That idea is false. It is either a lie or ignorance.

Let me leave you with something important. No cream, lotion, or serum on the market can actually correct loose skin. The best you can hope for from skincare is a modest improvement in collagen if you use a retinoid, or a temporary plumping from moisturizers.
