I am convinced that, regardless of the debates about artery location or aspiration technique, the injector who devotes a huge amount of mental energy to thinking about every millimeter of that needle is almost certainly going to be safer than the person who is coarse and unthoughtful, merely delivering the procedure as a checklist, even if they perform all the standard safety steps.
