The key components are hydrogenated polyisobutene and NMRHA N. asphodeloides root extract, a mouthful that hides a rather simple idea. This root extract contains saponins, specifically a phytosterol called sarsapogenin, which the company alleges has no hormonal effects. They discovered it, as I understand, through a screen for compounds that might influence fat cell gene expression. And they have studies—though not peer-reviewed, only an industry report you can find online—that suggest it works.

The study used a carefully formulated 5% cream gel. Throwing a few drops into your serum does not guarantee the same concentration or efficacy.
